OUR TEACHERS

SARA

Sara has more than 20 years of experience teaching middle and high school English at among the most prestigious and highly selective independent schools in the Philadelphia area.  Sara holds a BA in English from Earlham College and an MA in English from Columbia University. She has been awarded summer teaching grants from The National Endowment for the Humanities and has presented at national conferences, including the National Conference of Teachers of English (NCTE) and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). Sara directs her school's writing center and assists students in grades 6-12 with every stage of the writing process and with writing assignments ranging from lab reports to poetry. Sara enjoys spending time with her husband and teenage daughter, reading, gardening, and cooking.

KAREN

Karen has over 20 years of classroom teaching experience with 6th graders. She is very strong at motivating kids to observe life and write their own stories with descriptive languages and good capture of moments. She now resides in CT with her husband with a dog. Karen acquired her master's degree from Columbia University as an English major. After graduation, she teaches at an elite private school in her area over 20 years.

MARTHA

Martha earned her master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and later worked as an innovative master teacher and academic advisor with twenty-seven years of independent school teaching and administrative experience at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. In 2020, she completed Johns Hopkins University’s online COVID-19 contact tracing course. Martha has been well-known for her attention to detail and thorough research about history writing topics.

LUNDY

Lundy graduated from Pomona College as an English major and later came to Middlebury College for his master's degree. Now He has taught in an elite boarding school in New England as Raymond W. Ellis Distinguished Professor for over 20 years.

ANDREW

Andrew has taught for more than 20 years. He has had experience teaching various college level courses, Elementary Art, High School English and Composition and Research. He earned a Masters of the Arts, from the State University of New York in Albany, in 1998.

He enjoys teaching online but enjoys watching my students become better writers, researchers and thinkers even more.  Andrew has a considerable amount of knowledge of what high school and college will expect from their students and how to be successful in your education. It is his professional mission to prepare you for all of the teachers that you encounter after him and provide the educational tools you will need to become effective communicators and creators.

Currently, he lives with my family in Albany, New York, and grew up in New York State. He and his wife are both teachers. Right now, he teaches college courses in Composition and Research.

GRACE

Grace graduated from UC Berkely with a Master’s Degree in English. She has Thirty-two years of experience teaching English, composition, and creative writing at both the secondary and college level, and fifteen years as an administrator. She has been an English Department Chair,Academic Dean, Upper School Director, and Director of the Writing Center and English/Creative Writing.
